reflections of soft
colors through sacred windows
make a festive glow

but as quickly as
it came, POOF! it's suddenly
gone in just a blur

how I love houses
embellished with tons of lights
and stuff for Christmas!

do you ever get
a sinking feeling that just
will not go away?

prickly boughs laden,
many ornaments, a few
favorite treasures

I'm getting lost in your glow.
Receding into shadows,
batteries recharge.
This lapse is only temporary,
and then my soul is soothed
so I can come back out
and soothe yours.

silent night, holy
night, all is calm, all is bright
then it got brighter

each petal sculpted,
components become flowers,
flowers a bouquet

delicate blooms stand
firm though shallowly planted

in shifting quicksand
my roots burrow deep
